The Core Values of PWBC
OUR CORE VALUES ARE
|
| |
|
- We are followers of Jesus - it is He
who owns and builds the church.
more
- We believe the Holy Spirit is active in
our lives and church - leading, gifting and working supernaturally throughout
all we do and are - prayer is primary in all we do.
more
- To take the love of God and salvation
on offer to the community of Paddock Wood and beyond, affirming the value of
family life.
more
- Believer's Baptism is the norm for all
new Christians.
more
- God delights in our worship, praise and
the breaking of bread together and all opportunities for intimate contact with
God, responding to His wonderful love, and to strengthen our relationships
together.
more
- The Bible, its teaching and exposition;
the preaching of the Word of God is our primary source of inspiration,
revelation and growth.
more
- Living in the good of God's grace with
joy and thanksgiving - embracing the freedom that comes from newness of
life.
more
- We, believers, are the church - we are
committed to each other, more than structures, denomination or traditions - we
welcome everyone.
more
- Cell groups providing the foundational
building blocks of fellowship - worship, discipleship, pastoral care,
friendship, fun, growth, and evangelism.
more
- We believe in a plurality of leaders,
and the priesthood of all believers - all members of the body working together,
through their own gifting and ability, to build the church.
A plurality of leaders, a leadership team: friends, where
openness, vulnerability, ready to speak in detail into lives, ministry and
mutual accountability is the norm. Clear leadership with clear goals, common
vision and values, complementary gifting and mutual respect and submission.
Clear roles, fun, releasing, delegating, honesty and integrity, able to
disagree constructively. The rejection of a clergy/laity style of church life,
embracing the priesthood of all believers; while at the same time emphasising
the importance of Godly leadership and seeking to have a biblical understanding
of spiritual authority. An expectation that leadership will emerge from the
local church. The government of the church to be exercised by elders, with care
and consideration for the input and suggestions from the body, and sometimes a
consensus, (but not by the anonymous vote of a church members'
meeting). back
